Current league leaders Manchester United dropped an ugly 2-0 decision to Fulham today.  The Red Devils finished the game with nine men after Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney were both sent off.  Scholes earned a red card in the 18th minute for stopping a goal-bound Bobby Zamora shot with his hands on the goal line.  Fulham’s Danny Murphy converted the subsequent penalty.  Zoltan Gera added a second in the 87th minute to put the game away.  Rooney was sent off a minute later for his second yellow, allowing his temper to get the best of him.

Manchester United has now lost two straight Premier League games.  Chelsea could have closed the gap to a single point, but the Blues fell to Tottenham 1-0 on a Luka Modric goal in the 50th minute. Manchester United still has a game in hand over title rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, but Liverpool could still make it a one-point race with a victory over Aston Villa tomorrow.
